| FUEL CONTROL AND MONITORING SYSTEM |
This Topic is relevant to the whole fleet
GENERAL
The Fuel Control and Monitoring System (FCMS) controls the fuel system automatically.
The only crew actions required between flights are:
defining the required fuel load before refueling |
inserting the zero fuel weight and center of gravity position. |
Two identical Fuel Control and Monitoring Computers (FCMC) provide:
fuel transfer control |
aircraft gross weight and center of gravity calculation based on zero fuel weight and zero fuel center of gravity entered by the crew. |
center of gravity control |
refuel control. |
fuel quantity measurement and indication |
level sensing |
fuel temperature indication |
signals to FADEC for IDG cooling control. |
Normally FCMC 1 is active, FCMC 2 is in stand-by.
