REFUELING – DEFUELING

This Topic is relevant to the whole fleet

One refueling point is installed under the RH wing.

A second refueling point allows the refueling from the left side of the aircraft.

A refuel panel is located on the fuselage side beneath the right wing.

A second and/or a third panel is installed close to the right/left wing leading edge.

A gallery connects the refuel coupling to the fuel inlet valve of each tank.

Refueling is normally automatic, the required fuel load being set on the preselector.

All tanks which require refueling start to be refueled simultaneously.

Refuel valves close automatically when the tanks contain the preselected load or when sensors detect a high fuel level.

Manual control is also available.

Refueling can be controlled from the cockpit refuel panel .

The aircraft can be refueled when only battery power is available. The wing tanks can be refueled by gravity through refueling points on top of the wings.

Transfer is possible from either inner tank to any other tank except to the trim tank, provided FCMC is powered.

Approximate refueling time at nominal pressure (50 psi) is 35 minutes for all tanks (25 minutes if the second refueling point is installed and used).
