| FUEL QUANTITY INDICATION AND LEVEL SENSING |
This Topic is relevant to the whole fleet
Fuel quantity indication is a function of each FCMC which computes the quantities according to measurement of:
fuel probes capacitance |
fuel dielectric constant |
fuel density |
horizontal stabilizer angle (for gauging the trim tank). |
aircraft attitude |
Results are displayed in digital form on ECAM and on refuel control panel.
Two channels perform fuel computations. Channel 2 activates automatically if channel 1 fails.
Magnetic level indicators fitted on the lower wing surfaces permit a manual measurement of the fuel quantity in each tank (see Vol 2.01.30 procedure).
Various independent level sensors are installed to control the transfer logic.
FCMC discrete inputs :
low level detection for each inner tank and trim tank |
high level status in each tank (high / not high) |
vent surge tanks level detection (wet / not wet). |
