FUEL QUANTITY indicator
Displays in kg (or lb) × 1000  

the fuel quantity in each tank

the preselected total quantity :

At electrical power up (or FCMC reset)

the display shows the ACTUAL value minus 500 kg.

Or the last preselected value.

the actual total fuel on board

the applicable units (lb or kg)

the CKPT light :

Comes on when the flight crew has entered and confirmed a block fuel value in the MCDU

the END light :

Flashes if : 

imbalance > 3000 kg after refueling.

the system detects a failure during high level test.

refueling is aborted.

Comes on steady to indicate the refuel is completed.

HI LVL lts
Come on when the system detects a high fuel level. The corresponding refuel valve closes automatically.

OVERFLOW lt
Comes on amber when the overflow sensor is covered in the associated vent tank.

LOAD INC / DEC preselector sw
Pushing the switch up or down increases or decreases the preselected quantity.

TRANSF VALVE sw
CLOSED :  Guarded position
OPEN :  The aft transfer valves open if inner tank pumps are on, for ground transfer.
The trim tank inlet valve is closed.

APU EMER pb (guarded)
Pushing this button initiates the APU shutdown sequence.

POWER SUPPLY sw
NORM (guarded position) :  Refueling / Defueling can be powered with external power connected or APU generator on line.
BAT :  Refueling / Defueling powered by batteries.

HI LEVEL TEST sw (guarded)
The fuel quantity, PRESELECTED and ACTUAL displays show all 8's.If there is a failure during the high level test the END light flashes and stays flashing after completion. In addition the affected HI LVL light stays on.  While HI LEVEL TEST is in process refueling is stopped.

REFUEL / DEFUEL VALVES selector (guarded in NORM)
NORM :  Refuel / Defuel valves are controlled by automatic logic.
OPEN :  Valves open when the MODE SELECT switch is set to REFUEL or DEFUEL position.
In REFUEL position each refuel/defuel valve will close when high level is detected in the associated tank.
SHUT :  Valves close.

MODE SELECT sw (guarded at OFF)
OFF :  Refuel system is de-energized. Refuel valves are closed. (APU EMERG SHUT DOWN and HI LVL test remain available).
REFUEL :  Refuel valves operate in automatic or in manual mode depending on the position of REFUEL / DEFUEL VALVES switch.
DEFUEL :  Refuel valves are open.
